about me

Bill brings over 25 years of extensive history through connected industry leadership roles in M&A, strategic partnerships, investments and software development in the critical infrastructure sectors which create products for a safe, secure and reliable software-defined autonomous world. He has a background in leading initial digital offerings, accelerating those offerings through M&A/investment and finally optimizing them post-deployment. As part of that he has conducted strategy workshops, developed competitive intelligence landscapes, assessed technology players, managed complex cross-company projects and effectively presented complex topics in a clear manner to executives. He’s a cross-company practitioner with deep market, product, and technology insights in IIoT (combination of OT and IT), OT analytics, autonomous vehicle software, transportation, fog/edge computing, network function virtualization and modern DevOps.

Prior to consulting, Bill worked at Intel’s subsidiary, Wind River Systems (https://www.windriver.com) for over 10 years, as Senior Director in Strategy & Corporate Development, where he refined their business unit’s strategy in automotive, networking and IIoT including managing an ongoing M&A/investment program. In this role, Bill spearheaded inorganic deals including business justification, candidate assessment, presentations to executive staff, discovery, negotiation, diligence, value drivers and all aspects of deal execution in tight collaboration with Intel Capital (http://www.intelcapital.com) and Intel Strategic Transactions Group and leading the Wind River diligence team for the Intel divestiture.

Prior to this role, when Wind River Systems (https://www.windriver.com) was an independent company, Bill led the incubation of a new product initiative that remotely monitored the performance of aggregated embedded systems. He has led the business development for product acceleration deals collaborating closely with professional services, sales, product management and engineering. In the early parts of his career, Bill assembled a worldwide development team through hiring and acquisition that delivered commercial embedded software.
